Future of 30 year old men

[2023-02-12 14:26]

Recently I have been watching some anime about male main characters in their 30's starting life afresh. The MC's are always highly skilled but find themselves in an entire new setting where their skills do not apply. Most of these anime's lead to the MC becoming some sort of manual labourer, like farming or hunting, but seriously overpowered. Slowing down their pace of life and finding new things to enjoy.

So it got me thinking is this a signal to men who are in this age group? Are we being casually directed to start thinking of a post capitalist, modern life in big cities around the world? And decide to go back to the farms where our grandparents grew up and lived?

What is the wider context for this? Does this means that post capitalist life is upon us and we should start making changes now? This may very well be. But this would also mean that growing a modern career has no real future. Support for the alternative lifestyle may become more pronounced in the near future. Can I really accept having spent more than half of my adult life trying to gain a meaningful career, only to be told that it does not matter anymore?

I should probably start watching videos on how to milk a cow.
